History
Poth, Texas is a town in Wilson County, Texas and is at the junction of U.S. Highway 181 and Farm roads 427 and 541, seven miles southeast of Floresville. It is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area.
It was established in 1886 as a switch on the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway. The community was first called Marcelina but was renamed Poth in 1901, when A. H. Poth established a gin there.

Geography
Poth is located at 29°4′23″N 98°4′53″W / 29.07306°N 98.08139°W / 29.07306; -98.08139 (29.073134, -98.081501). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.2 square miles (8.3 km²), all of it land.
